This award honours Dr Sasaka Bandaranayake. Dr Bandaranayake was the first female Johnian to be elected President of the Student Club. She held office in 1995.
The Rural and Regional Women’s Scholarship is a financial bursary which celebrates over 25 years of co-residency at St John’s College. The award is designed to support a young woman from a rural or regional area to attend The University of Queensland and reside at St John’s College.

Award Value:
25% of base accommodation fees per recipient p.a.
Example: if base accommodation fees are $22,000 p.a. – 10% = $2,200, 15% = $3,300, 25% = $5,500 (subject to change annually)
