The Pidgeon family have contributed significantly to St John’s College. Sir John Pidgeon and his sister, Valmai Pidgeon, were generous donors to the College’s building program. Sir John Pidgeon was installed as an Honorary Fellow of the College in August 1999.

Award Value:
25% of base accommodation fees per recipient p.a.
Example: if base accommodation fees are $22,000 p.a. – 10% = $2,200, 15% = $3,300, 25% = $5,500 (subject to change annually)

Duration:
1 year

14th of August (for awards to be held the following year)

Continuing/returning students:  4pm on Tuesday, 10 September 2024
New/First Year students:  4pm on Tuesday, 10 December 2024

Eligibility
  • A recipient must be a full-time undergraduate student at The University of Queensland
  • A recipient must demonstrate academic achievement and financial need
  • A recipient must be in residence at St John’s College for the academic year in which the award is received
  • A recipient must remain a full time student for the year in which the award is made and make satisfactory progress towards the completion of her/his degree program
  • A recipient must contribute the balance of the College fees
About The Awards
  • This award is offered annually
  • It is to be awarded to a student, including a person commencing her/his studies, who has achieved academically and can demonstrate financial need
  • The amount is offered as remission of College fees over two semesters of one academic year
  • Each award is for a period of one academic year only
