The OJA is a group of dedicated former St John’s Students, who work to develop, foster and strengthen personal, academic and professional networks. The organisation allows ex-students a valuable platform for social and professional interaction, and a conduit to give back to the broader college community.

The award is designed to recognise and support a student who exemplifies Johnian values.

Award Value:
$4,000 over 1 year ($2,000/semester)

APPLICATIONS CLOSE:
Continuing/returning students:  4pm on Tuesday, 10 September 2024
New/First Year students:  4pm on Tuesday, 10 December 2024

Eligibility
  • A recipient must be a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate student at The University of Queensland having already resided at the College for at least one semester
  • A recipient must demonstrate a commitment to College and show how such commitment has made a positive contribution to the culture and ethos of the College as a whole
  • Demonstrated financial need may also be taken into consideration
  • A recipient must be in residence at St John’s College for the academic year in which the award is received
  • A recipient must remain a full time student for the year in which the award is made and make satisfactory progress towards the completion of her/his undergraduate/postgraduate degree program
  • A recipient must contribute the balance of the College fees
About The Awards
  • This award is offered annually
  • Only one award may be made in any one year
  • It is to be awarded to a student who exemplifies the Johnian spirit of commitment to College activities and who contributes positively and improves the culture and ethos of the College as a whole
  • A recipient must have successfully completed at least one semester of her/his studies while residing at St John’s College
  • The amount is offered as remission of College fees over two semesters of one academic year
  • The award is for a period of one academic year only
