This Scholarship was established in honour of Dr Norman Fisher AO, a student at St John’s during the late 1920s and subsequently Head of the Bureau of Mineral Resources. Dr Fisher was also an Honorary Fellow of the College.

$5,000 over 1 year ($2,500/Semester)

Eligibility
  • A recipient must be a full-time undergraduate student at The University of Queensland
  • A recipient must be an undergraduate student studying an undergraduate course in Science with a preference for Geological Science and excluding engineering
  • A recipient must demonstrate academic excellence with a GPA of 6.5 or above
  • A recipient must be in residence at St John’s College for the academic year in which the award is received.
  • A recipient must remain a full time student for the year in which the scholarship is made and make satisfactory progress towards the completion of her/his degree program
  • A recipient must contribute the balance of the College fees

  • It is to be awarded to an undergraduate student studying an undergraduate course in Science with a preference for Geological Science and excluding engineering
  • A recipient must demonstrate academic excellence with a GPA of 6.5 or above
  • The amount of the award is currently $5,000
  • It is offered as remission of College fees over two semesters of one academic year
  • The award is for a period of one academic year only
