This award was established by St John’s College Foundation in 2015 to support cultural excellence at the College.

Award Value:
10% of base accommodation fees per recipient p.a.
Example: if base accommodation fees are $22,000 p.a. – 10% = $2,200, 15% = $3,300, 25% = $5,500 (subject to change annually)

Duration:
1 year

APPLICATIONS OPEN:
14th of August (for awards to be held the following year)

APPLICATIONS CLOSE:
Continuing/returning students:  4pm on Tuesday, 10 September 2024
New/First Year students:  4pm on Tuesday, 10 December 2024

Eligibility
  • A recipient must be a full-time student, or have been offered a place, at The University of Queensland
  • A recipient must be in residence at St John’s College for the academic year in which the award is received
  • A recipient must remain a full time student for the year in which the scholarship is made
  • A recipient must demonstrate excellence in a cultural activity (eg music, drama, dance, art, etc) but not necessarily an ICC cultural pursuit
  • A recipient must demonstrate commitment to College cultural events in some capacity (eg performing, directing, etc.)
  • A recipient must demonstrate character traits becoming of a Johnian (eg commitment to cultural pursuits prior to joining College, ability to balance cultural and academic requirements)
  • A recipient must maintain a GPA required by the College
  • A recipient must contribute the balance of the College fees

  • This award is offered annually
  • It is to be awarded to an undergraduate student
  • A recipient must demonstrate excellence in a cultural activity.
  • It is offered as remission of College fees over two semesters of one academic year
  • A number of awards may be made in any year
  • The award is for a period of one academic year only

Applicants for the scholarship must apply to the Warden of St John’s College by the closing date using the St John’s College Award Application Form.
