In 2010, the St John’s College Centenary Appeal was launched to endow the Centenary Scholarships. These awards are designed to reward academic prowess and support students with financial needs. The awards are made to students who have successfully completed second year and are about to enter their third year of study.

Award Value:
$9,000 over 1 year ($4,500/semester)

APPLICATIONS OPEN:
14th of August (for awards to be held the following year)

APPLICATIONS CLOSE:
Continuing/returning students:  4pm on Tuesday, 10 September, 2024
New/First Year students:  4pm on Tuesday, 10 December 2024

Eligibility
  • A recipient must be a full-time undergraduate student at The University of Queensland
  • A recipient must demonstrate academic achievement and financial need
  • A recipient must be in residence at St John’s College for the academic year in which the award is received
  • A recipient must remain a full time student for the year in which the award is made and make satisfactory progress towards the completion of her/his degree program
  • A recipient must contribute the balance of the College fees
About The Awards
  • This award is offered annually
  • Up to three awards are to be offered
  • It is to be awarded to a student who has achieved academically and can demonstrate financial need
  • It is to be awarded to a student who has successfully completed the second year of her/his studies and is about to enter third year
  • It is to be awarded to a student who has spent two years at St John’s College
  • The amount of the award is currently up to $9,000
  • The amount is offered as remission of College fees over two semesters of one academic year
  • Each award is for a period of one academic year only

Applicants for the scholarship must apply to the Warden of St John’s College by the closing date using the St John’s College Award Application Form.
