In 2019, the Foundation created five additional bursaries to support resident students in financial need.
Award Value:
25% of base accommodation fees per recipient p.a.
Example: if base accommodation fees are $22,000 p.a. – 10% = $2,200, 15% = $3,300, 25% = $5,500 (subject to change annually)

About The Awards
How To Apply
- A recipient must be able to demonstrate financial difficulties associated with attendance at his/her university.
- A recipient must be a full-time, undergraduate student or have been offered a place at a recognised university, including: The University of Queensland, QUT and the Conservatorium of Music
- A recipient must remain a full-time student at her/his university for the period of the award
- A recipient must have been accepted into St John’s College and must be a resident of the College for the period of the award
- A recipient must remain a full time student at The University of Queensland for the period of the award
- A recipient must make satisfactory progress towards the completion of her/his degree program
- A recipient must contribute the balance of the College fees
- These awards are offered annually
- Up to five awards may be made in any one year
- Awards are offered on the basis of demonstrated financial difficulties associated with attending a recognised university, including: The University of Queensland, QUT and the Conservatorium of Music
- The amount is offered as remission of College fees over two semesters of one academic year
- The award will be reviewed annually and provided a recipient continues to be able to demonstrate financial hardship, it may be renewed
Applicants for the scholarship must apply to the Warden of St John’s College by the closing date using the St John’s College Award Application Form.
