The Academic Excellence Scholarships are awarded annually to students returning to College who have demonstrated the highest academic achievements in their previous years’ studies and have contributed positively to the College community.

Award Value:
15% of base accommodation fees per recipient p.a.
Example: if base accommodation fees are $22,000 p.a. – 10% = $2,200, 15% = $3,300, 25% = $5,500 (subject to change annually)

Eligibility
  • A recipient must have demonstrated academic excellence over the previous two semesters (semesters one and two of one academic year) of their undergraduate studies
  • As a general indication, a recipient would be expected to have achieved a minimum GPA of 6.5
  • A recipient must be and remain a full-time, undergraduate student of his/her university for the period of the award
  • A recipient must be undertaking her/his first undergraduate degree program
  • A recipient must have been a member of St John’s College in the previous year and must be a resident of the College for the period of the award
  • A recipient must have contributed positively to the College community
  • A recipient must continue to make satisfactory progress towards the completion of her/his degree program
  • A recipient must contribute the balance of the College fees
About The Awards
  • This award is offered annually
  • Up to six awards are offered each year
  • It is provided to returning students who have demonstrated both academic excellence over the previous two semesters of their undergraduate studies at a recognised university, including: The University of Queensland, QUT and the Conservatorium of Music, and have contributed positively to the College community
  • It is offered as remission of fees over two semesters of one academic year
  • The award is for a period of one academic year only
