This scholarship was established by a donation from Dr I.C.F. Spry QC of Melbourne in 1983. St John’s College Council resolved to apply the funds to the establishment of the Sir Charles Spry Scholarship. Sir Charles Spry was a distinguished Brisbane-born serviceman.

About The Awards
How To Apply
- A recipient must be a full-time undergraduate student, or have been offered a place, at The University of Queensland, with a preference for a recipient studying Law
- A recipient must demonstrate academic excellence a
- A recipient must be in residence at St John’s College for the academic year in which the award is received
- A recipient must remain a full time student for the year in which the scholarship is made and make satisfactory progress towards the completion of her/his degree program
- A recipient must contribute the balance of the College fees
- This award is offered annually
- Two awards are offered in any one year (Minor = Future Students/Major = Current Students)
- A recipient must demonstrate academic excellence
- Two awards are offered each year to undergraduate students with a preference for recipients who are studying law
- The amount of the award is currently $8,000
- It is offered as remission of College fees over two semesters of one academic year
- The award is for a period of one academic year only
Application is not required for this award. Recipients are offered the award on the basis of their previous years’ academic results.
