This award was established in 1987/88 by Canon Professor John L. Morgan, the Warden of St John’s College at that time, in memory of his former guardian, Herb Hampton.
Award Value:
25% of base accommodation fees per recipient p.a.
Example: if base accommodation fees are $22,000 p.a. – 10% = $2,200, 15% = $3,300, 25% = $5,500 (subject to change annually)

About The Awards
How To Apply
- A recipient must be a graduate at The University of Queensland or any other recognised university
- A recipient must provide evidence that she/he has been accepted into a postgraduate program at The University of Queensland
- A recipient must demonstrate academic achievement and financial need
- A recipient must be in residence at St John’s College for the academic year in which the award is received
- A recipient must remain a full time postgraduate student for the year in which the scholarship is made and make satisfactory progress towards the completion of his/her degree
- A recipient must contribute the balance of the College fees
- This award is offered annually
- It is to be awarded to graduate student who has achieved academically and can demonstrate financial need
- It is offered as remission of College fees over two semesters of one academic year
- The award is for a period of one academic year only
Applicants for the scholarship must apply to the Warden of St John’s College by the closing date using the St John’s College Award Application Form.
